I cannot believe my 2017 wedding season is over. Every year, it’s the same story… how did time fly by SO fast? I wish I could take every wedding I shoot and slow it WAY down. I wish the days didn’t rush by in a mad hurry. I wish I could stop during the day, relax a little, enjoy a glass of wine with the couple and toast them to a beautiful wedding. The actual reality of it is, we run all day… and fast! It always seems like a hurry to go from brides house, to ceremony, to formal photos and finally to the reception. There never seems to be a minute to breathe.
What I do love, so very much, is sitting down with a warm cup of coffee and reliving the wedding day through the art of photography. Sifting through all the images, is ALMOST, like being a part of the day all over again. Its magical.
One wedding day that I was SO looking forward to this year, was the wedding of Stephanie and Tom at Chateau des Charmes. Stephanie and Tom were one of those “special couples” They were a couple that felt more like friends than clients, they were so very kind, caring and respectable, it was hard not to adore them from the moment I met them.
Our day began with images of Stephanie and Tom, getting ready at the gorgeous 124 Queen St. The sky was overcast and cool, but this didn’t slow down the excitement or anticipation for even a second.
Following a morning of preparation, we met at Chateau des Charmes vineyard for a first look between the bride and groom.
The vineyard was adorned with stunning florals from Bloom and Co of roses, greenery and hydrangeas, complete with an arbor to take your breath away.
Family and bridal party images followed the first look. A soft rain began to gently fall. The bridal party was completely wonderful as we pulled out some umbrellas and enjoyed the romance of the drops gently hitting the ground. The outdoor vineyard ceremony was moved indoors for comfort and pleasure. A champagne toast followed the ceremony while the sweet acoustic sounds of the Mad Hatters echoed throughout the room.
The MOST sinful dinner I have ever tasted was enjoyed under the large white tent accompanied with the first dances of mom and dad. The dance floor lit up as the band rocked and rolled and guests tip tapped until the wee hours of the night.
Thank you again, Stephanie and Tom for sharing your incredible day with me. It is a day I surely will never forget and cherish in my collection of memories forever.
