I begin this post with a certain heaviness in my heart, a delicate sadness that most certainly cannot be ignored. There is the unfortunate reality of being a wedding photographer, that once the wedding day is over, and the images are given to the bride and groom, the likelihood of staying as close as we have been in the past year, is just not good.
I have had, in the past year, the most delightful time getting to know our next bride and groom, Rawan and Rob. Rawan is petite, beautiful and elegant, Rob is strong, tall and statuesque. They met many years ago at high school, and finally it had now come the time to marry. It has been the most amazing year photographing and documenting their cultures and the unique traditions that follow. Rob comes from a traditional Italian family, with many friends and family members belonging to their community. Rawan, is Lebanese, a culture I was a little less familiar with. I quickly learned of the elegant wardrobe and traditional Lebanese dances, including the very entertaining belly dance. To say the least, it has been a true honour photographing Rawan and Rob over the past year from their engagement session, to Rawan’s bridal shower and finally their wedding day at the beginning of May this year.
Rawan and Rob, I wish you many more wonderful years together as husband and wife. Thank you for sharing your wedding journey with me, I wish much joy and happiness in the future!
