This is the winter that feels like it will never end to me. I know that I have said it over a million times in my Facebook and Instagram posts, but honestly this weather that is one day minus 10 and the next day plus 10 is really starting to get on my nerves and quite frankly in my opinion, spring can’t come soon enough. Lately, I’ve found myself dreaming more and more of warmer days, flip flop shoes, cute skirts and my favourite jean jacket. And I am so sure that I am not the only one.
This is also the time of year that is considered a photographers “slow season.” When we are not overly busy with weddings and engagement sessions. It is a wonderful time to catch up on marketing materials, social media branding and my most favourite of all, a time to reflect back on all of my past photographic sessions. This is the time that I critique my work, how well did I do, and how could I have done better.
Combining my need for spring, and my love of sifting through memories of last years engagements, brings me to Kaitlin and Mikes spring engagement session. On a somewhat chilly May day, we photographed their session in gorgeous Niagara on the Lake. We began their session at Oast Brewery where the adorable couple share a frosty pint. But, my most favourite part of the session, was by far when we hit the county side of our beautiful region and soaked in some of Niagara’s gorgeous blossoms in all of their glory. Kaitlin and Mike will be married at the end of April this year, and I just can’t wait, its sure to be one of my favourites of 2017!
