Niagara Wedding Photographer: Burgandy & John are Married

FILED IN: Weddings

When it comes to wedding days, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility to make every thing on the day go just perfectly. I so desperately want the dreams and the vision of every bride to be captured flawlessly in her images, it is a honour to do so as the wedding photographer. I had spent much time over the past year getting to know Burgandy and John and had grown quite fancied for them. Burgandy had always shared with me her dreams of a gorgeous spring wedding day complete with blossoms, and I so wanted to deliver this dream.

The week of the couples wedding, mother nature had quite a different plan in store for us. Across Niagara came freezing cool temperatures and flooding rains. So much rain, that many  homes were flooded and roads in St Catharines were closed due to extreme water. Things were not going as planned.

The girls spent the morning getting ready at the brides mom’s home. We enjoyed a champagne toast, an endless buffet of goodies and lots of giggles and hugs. My lovely second photographer spent her morning with the very handsome groomsmen enjoying a cocktail or two at the grooms parents house.

A garden ceremony was moved indoors at the always fabulous Club Roma. Followed by family photography, we then opted for plan B and headed to the Fallsview casino.

I watched in sheer happiness as the bridal party jovially rode the escalator several times up and down as Burgandy and John smiled ear to ear, and thought to myself, this is going to work out just wonderfully after all. How does the saying go? When given lemons, make lemonade. And the sweetest, most refreshing lemonade you have ever tasted was created.

We finally returned to Club Roma for a most sinful anti pasto buffet, a shot table full of Sambuca, Baileys and Limocella and lots and lots of hugs and kisses.

Speeches and toasts took place during a melt in your mouth four course Italian supper, followed by the dance floor opening to the traditional Italian folk dance and finally breaking into some fabulous “shake your bootie” hits of today.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Burgandy and John for sharing your wedding day with me. I had a really, really fabulous time!

Love Andrea
