There is a funny magic to love. Sometimes love has an instant spark, an instant connection, sometimes not. Sometimes love thinks your a little bit of a jerk the first time it talks to you on the phone. But lucky for you, on an off chance, sometimes love will find you again on the dance floor, and this time, your charming good looks, fancy dance moves and great personality will win the heart of the beautiful lady. This is the love story of Allison and Tanner. A truly magical story, of a little bit of a ooopps start, but a fairy tale from there on in.
When I first spoke to Allison on the phone, I couldn’t help but be excited for her plans of a wedding at the St Catharines Golf and Country Club, a club near and dear to her fiancees family. Rich in history and beauty, the newly renovated ball room would be decorated in blush and gold with a live band and celebrated with lots of family and friends. There was only one stipulation, and would I be able to handle it. She had a large wedding party. A VERY LARGE WEDDING PARTY. 26 people in all. The truth was Allison and Tanner are blessed with many friends. And when faced with the task of cutting one or two or three, they just couldn’t do it. And so, they invited them all to stand beside them as they said “I do.” I agreed, not exactly sure of what I had gotten myself into and waited with much anticipation for their coming wedding day.
When the day finally arrived, much like the rest of the summer we had this year, the day was hot and muggy and SUPER windy. The weatherman threatened rain, ice pellets, thunder showers, and even tornadoes. The ceremony was moved inside for comfort and security. The golf course served as the romantic backdrop, as the couple said “I do” in front of their closest friends and family.
We then travelled around the course for family and bridal party images. Next, my favorite part, we hit the golf carts full speed ahead (oh yeah, I got to drive) to a remote golf hole that the grooms father shared with me a week or two ahead of time. For a moment or two, I almost felt whisked away to Augusta, Georgia.
Following portraits, the reception party began at the Club House with a live band and flowing cocktails. Gold Chivari chairs, gold plate chargers, and candle light set the mood for a dinner affair like no other. Guests enjoyed a take home Swell Bottle with a little pun on the grooms last name. DJ Evan opened the dance floor with the festivities well into the night.
Thank you Allison and Tanner for a wedding to remember, a bridal party like no other (they were amazing,) for a ‘Goode’ no a GREAT personal tour of the course on our final consult meeting, and memories to last a lifetime.
